The Mr Yusef Abubaker Gift of Hope Heart Fund

Set up by Mrs Alison Abubaker

Welcome to the Gift of Hope Heart Fund which has been set up in memory of our beloved and sorely missed son, Yusef Abubaker. This fund has been set up to raise money for the British Heart Foundation to help them in their fight against heart disease.

Yusef had been planning to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation when he died suddenly, aged just 12 years old, whilst playing football on 24 September 2007.

He was a rugby player, swimmer and played football amongst other sports. He also loved hockey and tennis and never missed the opportunity to play sport. Yusef was, thank God, a very healthy young man and led a very healthy and full life.  He was very aware of the need for research and wanted to be a doctor.

I wish to raise money for the British Heart Foundation in my son's memory, as that is what he would have done for me.  I want to keep his acts of charity going.  Please make a donation if you can and keep Yusef in your prayers.  It is so important to keep Yusef's memory alive to act as a reminder of how fragile life is.

Collection made at the mosque at Yusef's Funeral
Yusef was in the process of organising a sponsored Cycle Event for two charities, one of them being the British Heart Foundation. Despite his age, he was so conscious of the need for research into heart disease. Obviously, his sudden death has meant that he did not have the time to fulfil his plans but we can keep the charity events happening in Yusef's memory. A big thank you to all who donated on 25 September at Brown Street Mosque. May God Bless Yusef and all who give in his name to charity.

Always in our prayers, may the memory of Yusef Abubaker live on in the good deeds that others do in his name, inshallah.

Yusef was a kind and gentle boy who was only in my life for a short time, but I am honoured to have known him. This money was kindly donated by guests at my wedding instead of wedding gifts. A big thank you to all who donated this money. It will aid two great charities in their work and help keep Yusef's memory alive. Thank you, may you all be rewarded.
